About the Role
Sungrow is seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to drive sales of PV inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and medium-voltage power station solutions in the utility-scale market across Southern Africa. This strategic role focuses on developing and managing key relationships with developers, EPCs, utilities, and IPPs, ensuring Sungrow ’s leadership in large-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Promote Sungrow ’s central inverters, string inverters, and BESS solutions to utility-scale clients in Southern Africa.
- Develop and execute sales strategies for large-scale PV and storage projects, from lead generation to contract closure.
- Identify and target strategic accounts to expand Sungrow ’s market share in the utility segment.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain long-term relationships with EPCs, developers, utilities, and government entities.Coordinate cross-functional teams (sales, technical, legal) to deliver tailored proposals and negotiate master supply agreements (MSAs), PPAs, and project-specific contracts.Monitor regional policies, industry trends, and competitor activity to inform Sungrow ’s market positioning.Provide feedback to product teams to optimize solutions for Southern Africa’s utility-scale demands.Track pipeline opportunities, deliver regular revenue forecasts, and adjust tactics to meet targets.Represent Sungrow at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance brand visibility.Project Support & Compliance
Ensure projects align with local regulations (e.g., REIPPPP, grid codes) and client requirements.Collaborate with engineering and logistics teams to guarantee on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.Qualifications
Essential Qualifications :
8+ years in PV industry sales, with a focus on utility-scale projects (inverter / BESS experience preferred).Proven track record in B2B sales to EPCs, developers, and utilities (not channel / distribution).Deep understanding of Southern Africa’s energy policies, utility procurement processes, and competitive landscape.Strong negotiation skills with experience closing multi-MW project deals.Preferred Attributes :
Existing network with top EPCs and IPPs in Southern Africa.Technical familiarity with PV plant design, grid compliance, and energy storage systems.English and Chinese fluency (additional local languages a plus).Willingness to travel frequently within the region.Logistics
