Temporary Project Engineer – Logistics (Kariega)
Our client, a leading player in the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a Temporary Project Engineer to join their Logistics Department (Production Division) in Kariega.
This hands-on role is ideal for a technically minded and analytical individual with a passion for project management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
You’ll support the development, optimization, and implementation of material-handling systems and packaging solutions to ensure smooth production flow and cost-efficient logistics operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan, design, and improve material flow and logistics systems within production and warehouse environments.
- Develop detailed layouts, specifications, and facility designs for material-handling and packaging equipment (stillages, pallets, racking, etc.).
- Coordinate and monitor project implementation, ensuring timelines and cost targets are achieved.
- Prepare project budgets, quotations, and capital expenditure requests.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and participate in negotiations and cost optimization.
- Conduct facility trials and acceptance testing for new equipment or systems.
- Update and maintain logistics material-handling contracts and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive efficiency and quality.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Qualification :
Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics.Experience :
Minimum 1 year’s experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive experience an advantage).Skills & Attributes :
Strong project management and analytical thinking ability.Self-driven, organized, and able to work under pressure.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Advanced Excel and full MS Office proficiency.Skilled in 3D CAD interpretation and technical drawings.Added Advantage :
Familiarity with SAP in Supply Chain Management.German language proficiency is a plus.Why Apply?
