Assistant Food & Beverage Manager | Luxury Wilderness Reserve | Western Cape

Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a guest-focused, career-driven Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for a renowned luxury wilderness reserve based in the Western Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a charismatic hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a flair for delivering exceptional service.
Job Summary :
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, service-orientated leader with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail. The role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage department and assisting with guest interaction, team leadership, cost control, and training initiatives.
Minimum Requirements :
Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a 4 / 5
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Operational experience with Point of Sale systems (Micros preferred)
Operational experience with stock management systems (FnBShop advantageous)
Exposure to Opera advantageous
Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Familiarity with hospitality terminology, particularly F&B vocabulary
Solid understanding of restaurant financials and stock control
Experience with service recovery
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
Advantageous Experience :
Exposure to Micros Symphony
WSET Level 1 or Level 2 (Wine and Food Pairing)
Previous training experience
Key Responsibilities :
Assist outlet management with daily operations and guest interaction, especially during peak periods
Manage the operating equipment store, including purchasing and distribution
Plan and execute F&B special events and promotions to drive revenue and brand visibility
Prepare staff rosters, balancing business needs with labour cost control
Monitor and manage operating costs in line with the budget
Coordinate and support departmental training
