Job Summary :
We are looking for a skilled and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our team in the automotive truck industry . The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of diesel trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. You must have strong technical knowledge, be safety-conscious, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform routine services and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Conduct engine overhauls, clutch replacements, brake repairs, and suspension work.
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues.
- Complete job cards and service reports accurately and timeously.
- Inspect vehicles according to roadworthiness standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop.
- Assist with emergency roadside repairs when required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Minimum Requirements :
Grade 12 (Matric) – essential.Red Seal Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic – essential.Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on heavy-duty trucks (Mercedes, MAN, Scania, Volvo, etc.).Proven experience in diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of commercial trucks.Valid driver’s license – Code 14 advantageous.Own tools – advantageous or as per company policy.Knowledge of diagnostic software and modern vehicle systems.Key Competencies :
