Job Description

Westfalia Fruit Estate situated in Tzaneen has a permanent vacancy for a suitable qualified and experienced Boilermaker.

Reporting to the Boiler Shop Foreman the incumbent will be responsible for constructing assembling maintaining and repairing stationary steel structures. This includes maintaining Packhouse equipment such as Bin Tippers Conveyor Systems (belts and monorails) Fruit Sorting Machines pumps bearings and other equipment associated with the Packhouse facility. The role also involves fabricating and erecting structures or plate sections to assemble frames tanks structures pumps and pump stations following design drawings. The position requires the use of hand tools power tools as well as welding cutting and grinding equipment.

Minimum Requirements :

Education and Experience :

  • Boilermaker / Fitter Trade qualification
  • Valid driver s license
  • 35 years general maintenance experience
  • Experienced in construction of structures pump house and irrigation systems

Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of machines tools and equipment including their designs uses repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of materials methods and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses buildings or other structures and / or frames
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Systems around tools equipment and mechanical equipment

    • Skills :

  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools
  • Installation installing equipment machines and other structures
  • Quality control analysis conducting tests and inspection of products services or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Equipment maintenance performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Troubleshooting determining causes of operating errors; recommend and implement solutions
