The Senior Visual Designer is responsible for the development of digital learning content. This entails effectively articulating the learning requirements of business, alignment with digital standards and developing these within the parameters of the learning platform. This role may interface with other internal business stakeholders and training vendors
Key performance areas will be :
- Required to create quality custom graphics and digital collateral across multiple brands, platforms and devices.
- The key output will be in the form of a Visual Board (VB) which is designed based on the Story Board (SB) created by the Instructional Designer.
- The incumbent requires a deep understanding of what the digital platform is technically capable of hence there is close collaboration required between this role and that of the developers.
- The incumbent will have to ensure consistency by adhering to aesthetic design, style| digital guidelines.
- Prepare mock-ups and present these before deciding on a final design | concept. Manage work files, the stock image database, all photography, and reference materials.
- Ensure SLAs and design standards are met.
- Remain abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the web development, design and digital learning fields.
- There is an expectation that a model of continuous improvement is applied. Often this role is expected to work under pressure
- Coach and | or mentor within your domain when required
- Support internal QA and peer review
Requirements :
5 years’ experience in a design Studio or Agency spaceA qualification in graphic design and multimediaExposure to digital learning methodologies would be preferredProficient in Adobe creative cloud suiteExcellent Illustrator and Photoshop skillsExperience in Vyond and After Effects preferredExperienced in applying good visual design principles, typography, good visual hierarchy, grid-based design, colour harmony, and gestaltRemain abreast of emerging trends and technologiesContribute to discovery | idea generation sessionsCreate quality custom graphics and digital collateral across multiple brands and devicesPrepare visual boards and present these before deciding on a final design | conceptManage work files, the stock image database, all photography, and reference materialsPassion for storytelling using animationAn understanding of Design thinking principlesAn understanding of Learning Experience or Instructional DesignPlease ensure that your Line Manager is aware of your application.
