Key Responsibilities :
- Machine Setup & Operation :
Set up CNC milling machines (Fanuc) based on job specifications and technical drawings.
Load and adjust tooling, offsets, and fixtures for production runs.Operate machines efficiently while monitoring performance and output quality.Precision Machining & Adjustments :Perform first-off inspections and make necessary corrections to ensure tolerances are met.
Modify programs at the control panel if minor changes are needed.Ensure optimal machine cycle times while minimizing tool wear and downtime.Quality Control & Inspection :Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators).
Maintain documentation of measurements and conform to quality assurance processes.Identify and report non-conforming products or recurring machining issues.Maintenance & Safety :Perform routine machine maintenance and report any technical faults.
Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes.Production Documentation :Accurately complete job cards, time sheets, and inspection reports.
Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding job status and challenges.Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications :
Grade 12 / Matric CertificateRelevant trade certificate (e.g., Toolmaker, Fitter & Turner) is advantageousExperience :
Minimum of 3 years experience as a CNC Setter working with Fanuc-controlled milling machinesPrevious experience in a high-precision manufacturing or engineering environmentSkills :
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining instructionsStrong understanding of CNC programming fundamentals (Fanuc)Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and mechanical aptitudeCapable of working independently and maintaining high productivity
