A Mine Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, equipment, facilities, and resources within the mining site. This role involves enforcing security protocols, monitoring access to restricted areas, preventing theft or unauthorized activities, and responding to incidents to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol and monitor mining facilities, plants, warehouses, and surrounding areas to prevent and detect unauthorized activities.
Control access to mine sites by verifying employee, contractor, and visitor credentials.
Protect company assets, including minerals, equipment, and vehicles, from theft or damage.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including accidents, disturbances, and security breaches.
Conduct inspections of security systems, surveillance equipment, fences, and gates.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and investigations.
Enforce company security policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Escort and safeguard the transportation of valuable minerals or sensitive materials.
Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuations and first aid when necessary.
Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and management when required.
