Job descriptionMatric / Grade 12 (or equivalent). Recognised Trade Test Certificate (e.g. Fitter, Millwright, Electrician, or similar). 3 years post-qualification experience in maintenance within a production, FMCG, food, or beverage environment. Knowledge of pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment. Ability to read technical drawings and perform accurate fault-finding. Computer literacy (basic MS Office, maintenance systems) is advantageous. Valid drivers licence and reliable transport. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. High attention to detail with a proactive, safety-first mindset. Reliable, flexible, and willing to work shifts, overtime, and call-outs if required. Good communication and interpersonal skills. ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance on production machinery, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
- Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Support production teams with equipment changeovers, setups, and adjustments.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including job cards, checklists, and inspections.
- Monitor equipment condition and report potential issues to prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure adequate stock levels of critical spares and tools.
- Comply with all health, safety, and quality (SHEQ) standards, including lock-out / tag-out and risk assessment protocols.
- Participate in standby and overtime duties as required.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high equipment availability.
