Job Description

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of a Warehouse Shift Leader in its Warehouse operations in the Commercial division. The job holder will be responsible for loading and picking orders according to the daily plan and coordinating trucks accordingly. This position reports to the Warehouse and Transport Manager and carries the TASK grade of T09. The successful candidate must be in possession of a minimum NQF level 5 qualification in Logistics Management or a relevant qualification. A minimum of 3‑5 years’ experience in warehousing is required, preferably in large‑scale warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ex‑factory stock movement to within the specified time and temperature standards.
• Maintain the cold chain with Chiller area temps between -2 and +4 degrees.
• Reconcile fresh orders received to what has been captured in the information systems.
• Prepare the pick slips for the fresh orders.
• Prepare the identification stickers to ensure accurate customer deliveries.
• Coordinate vehicle availability with the Transport Provider to make deliveries.
• Communicate daily with customers on progress of deliveries.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and prevent stock shortages.
• Perform daily stock counts using the information systems.
