Our Data community includes Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts who uncover valuable insights from the data we gather to guide product development and business strategy. The Senior Data Engineer role sits in the Business Insights Team, focusing on providing trusted, timely and accurate data for reporting and insights using Databricks and Looker.
Role objective
Design, build, and maintain the analytical data warehouse to enable trusted product and enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, and compelling dashboard storytelling that informs business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data scientists, platform data engineers, data analysts and business stakeholders to collect requirements
- Determine data needs and translate business requirements into analytical objectives
- Design data models using dimensional modelling principles
- Build and maintain the analytical warehouse with appropriate dimensions and facts
- Provide guidance and mentorship, including code reviews
- Ensure data pipelines are automated, scalable, and well-governed
- Uphold high standards and best practices for data governance, release management, and version control
- Keep data catalogue, business glossary and related documentation up to date to improve self-service and trust
- Provide insights and recommendations to data teams and business stakeholders
Qualifications
Passion for data analytics and related disciplinesExperience designing and implementing complex analytical solutionsExpertise in dimensional data modelling and database managementExtensive experience with ETL / ELT tools and techniquesStrong leadership, collaboration, and communication skillsAbility to work with uncertainty and in fast-paced environmentsAbility to mentor and guide team membersProactive and curious mindset with a focus on problem solvingAbility to explain data concepts clearly to non-expertsComfort working independently and across cross-disciplinary teamsPreferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or technical fieldExperience with DatabricksExperience with Looker or similar BI toolsStrong SQL and relational database skillsFamiliarity with data warehousing within a data lake architectureInterest in working in the crypto industryWhat will really get you noticed
