Purpose of the job :
Manage the activities of the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages.Ensure compliance with all legal and legislative requirements related to payroll.Process all death, disability, and termination claims.Key relationships (internal & external) :
Internal : HR, Finance, Management, all staffExternal : SARS, Sage / VIP, RMA, WCA, UIF, Medical Aid SP, Provident Fund(s) SP, ERS, ad hoc contractors / service providers, MIBCOCritical experience :
10+ years payroll management experience in a medium-sized organization, managing multiple payrolls (monthly and weekly)SARS returnsComprehensive knowledge of MIBCO agreementProficiency in Sage 300 PeopleKnowledge of ERS Biometrics clocking systemIntermediate financial knowledgeMinimum education :
Matric and / or payroll or accounting diplomaTechnical (systems) knowledge required :

Complete and submit all statutory and legislative requirements (e.g., EMP 201, WCA returns, SARS submissions)Support payroll supervisor in managing the payroll teamEnsure timely and accurate payroll activities : employee loading, correct pay rates, provident funds, vehicle and petrol tax, leave linking, ESS integration, termination payments, payroll reconciliations, bank payments, Salesforce salary uploadsUtilize payroll systems effectively : employee linking, online systems, journals, updates, company setups, legislative registrationsProvide relevant reports to HR and government agenciesTrain payroll staff and ensure competence and succession planningManage payroll staff performance and disciplineEnsure leave forms are approved and ESS is used for leave records#J-18808-Ljbffr
