Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and qualified Carpenter Serviceman to join a leading mining operation in Rustenburg. This position is ideal for a hands-on detail-oriented professional who takes pride in precision workmanship and safety.

Requirements :

  • Recognized Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
  • Completed Logbook / Training Modules (proof required).
  • Valid Exit Medical Certificate from a recognized medical facility.
  • Proven experience in carpentry within a mining or industrial environment.
  • Sound knowledge of mine safety regulations and carpentry standards.
  • Physically fit and able to work underground if required.
  • Reliable safety-conscious and a strong team player.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform construction installation and repair of wooden structures mine supports formwork and related components.
  • Measure cut shape and assemble wood and other materials according to project specifications.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair of underground and surface timber structures.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and job specifications accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) standards and site safety procedures.
  • Inspect and maintain carpentry tools machinery and equipment to ensure they remain in safe working condition.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship safety and housekeeping within the work area.
