PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
The purpose of this job is to assist financial accounting unit in the day-to-day processes of the unit. To assist and give support to the reporting of the company's finances.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES
- Prepare monthly and weekly cash-flow Process suppliers' invoices
- Prepare monthly supplier reconciliation Fixed assets;
- Prepare monthly supplier reconciliation
- Fixed assets;
- Prepare month end journals
- Assist in preparation of month end GL recons
- Lease liability
- Provisions
- Accruals
- Prepare 30 day payment report
Key Measures
Number of audit observations;Submission / preparation of accurate and complete work on time;Compliance with procedural and legislative requirements;Management of client relationships and key stakeholders;Key Interfaces
Other business unit particularly, Procurement, Marketing, Risk Management, Office management, Human resource, Legal and UnderwritingECIC Executives and ManagersInternal and External AuditorsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Degree in Financial Management / Accounting;2 – 3 year's in a financial institution.SKILLS & ABILITIES
The incumbent should have demonstrated the following competencies :
Knowledge : IFRS, Tax, Auditing, PFMA;Adequate financial statement analysis skills;Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels ;Ability to forge relationships with other areas of the business and at all levels;Ability to work under pressure and independently;Team player;Strong aptitude for problem resolution and decision making;Able to demonstrate a high degree of integrity;Problem solving skills to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions;Adequate analytical skills;Strict attention to detail and deadline orientatedBEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
