Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Contract)

The Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist – Legal and Compliance plays a critical role in upholding the organization’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and regulatory excellence. This position is responsible for managing and resolving inquiries, complaints, and investigations related to compliance and legal matters, including market conduct examinations.
The Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and thorough resolution of issues while identifying trends, recommending process improvements, and enhancing policies and procedures. The role requires strong analytical abilities, sound judgment, and exceptional communication skills to foster a culture of transparency and ethical conduct across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Inquiry & Complaint Management
- Receive, document, and evaluate incoming inquiries and complaints related to legal and compliance matters.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant responses in accordance with internal protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed and organized records for tracking, reporting, and audit purposes.
Investigation & Resolution
Conduct thorough investigations of reported concerns, including evidence collection, fact-finding, and interviews.Collaborate with Legal, Claims, Underwriting, and other departments to determine appropriate resolutions.Draft clear and comprehensive investigation summaries, reports, and recommendations for corrective actions or policy updates.Uphold confidentiality and ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.Compliance Monitoring & Reporting
Identify patterns, trends, and emerging risks from inquiries and investigations.Assist in developing, refining, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and controls.Prepare reports, metrics, and presentations for leadership, regulatory agencies, and audit reviews.Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance assessments.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Legal, Claims, Underwriting, and other business units to ensure consistent handling of compliance issues.Provide expert guidance and support to business units on compliance-related matters.Participate in training, education, and awareness initiatives to promote a strong culture of compliance and ethics.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Public Administration, or a related field required.Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Paralegal Certification, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) preferred.Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal, compliance, or investigative roles.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, compliance management practices, and corporate governance.Demonstrated experience conducting investigations and managing sensitive or confidential information.Skills & Competencies :
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.High ethical standards, professionalism, and discretion.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management or compliance tracking systems.Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across departments and functional areas.Other Requirements :
Infrequent travel may be required.Contract Details
