Enrolled Nurse | Auxiliary Theatre

Overview

A vacancy exists for Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary x2 based in our Theatre at Life Bay View Hospital , reporting to Lettie Swanepoel, Theatre Unit Manager . The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the surgical team to perform surgical procedures and to ensure that the patient receives optimal care in accordance with the company and hospital strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring accurate charging by managing theatre clocking time
• Ensuring consignment stock, equipment and prosthetic is charged according to policy
• Managing stock by participating in regular stock taking and controlling the consignment stock in accordance with the hospital (local) policy
• Managing usage and care of equipment
• Ensuring the use of personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirements
• Ensuring the disposal of medical waste to effectively control infection
• Adhering to sterility principles
• Maintaining a healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager
