About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading auditing and professional services firm in Port Elizabeth, is seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Compliance Supervisor to join their growing Tax Department.

In this key role, you’ll support the Tax Manager and Tax Director in supervising the tax team, overseeing tax compliance processes, managing SARS interactions, and ensuring accurate, high-quality delivery of all tax-related work.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support tax department staff
• Assist with complex income tax and provisional tax returns
• Oversee the administration of SARS correspondence, assessments, and notifications
• Manage and track the tax dispute resolution process, including objections, appeals, and Tax Ombud complaints
• Liaise with SARS on behalf of the firm and its clients
• Review tax calculations, refunds, and compliance reports
• Advise clients and staff on tax-related matters
• Ensure deadlines and compliance standards are consistently met
• Support the Tax Manager with training, system updates (GreatSoft), and reporting
• Monitor tax lists, disputes, and refund progress monthly
• Assist with Tax Exemption applications and related submissions
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s System of Quality Management (SOQM) and Code of Conduct
