Are you passionate about driving impactful investments across Africa? My client is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as an Investment Officer. As a key member, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping investment strategies and contributing to the growth of promising ventures across the continent.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deal Sourcing and Evaluation :

Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through extensive market research and networking.

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial analysis, industry research, and risk assessment.
  • Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment committee for strategic decision-making.
  • Transaction Execution :

    • Collaborate with senior team members to structure and negotiate investment deals effectively.

  • Assist in drafting legal documents and agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage the closing process, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete for seamless transactions.
  • Portfolio Management :

    • Monitor and actively manage portfolio companies, tracking financial performance and operational metrics.

  • Engage with portfolio company management teams to drive value creation initiatives and optimize performance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of exit strategies for portfolio investments.
  • Market Research and Analysis :

    • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes across African markets.

  • Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to support investment decision-making processes.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity or corporate finance.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
  • Deep understanding of African markets and the ability to assess investment opportunities within the region.
