Job descriptionProcess supplier invoices and employee expenses, controlling against company policies Communicate with suppliers, sub-contractors, and employees relating to invoices and expenses Maintain supplier master files and supplier database Sort, file, and scan supplier documentation and keep the electronic filing system Support with administrative duties Assist with travel arrangements – booking of accommodation and car rentals Answer the telephone. Recognised tertiary bookkeeping qualification is a minimum At least 5 years proven hands-on working experience in a finance department in a corporate company in a bookkeeping role Service industry experience is an advantage Advanced MS Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, and Microsoft Office 365 skills Computer Literacy with working experience on accounting software like Sage Previous working experience in services industry in Certification and Inspection is an advantage i.e. Global GAP, BRC, FSSC, Siza Working understanding of VAT and accounting principles Mature person with an exceptional sense of responsibility and integrity Team player that is a reliable member of a highly functioning finance team Self-starter that takes initiative and can produce high-quality work with minimum supervision Deadline driven and focused on goals of the team Accuracy and attention to detail is essential Strong mathematical and analytical ability with a proven track record of reconciliations and problem-solving Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload Excellent verbal and written communication in Afrikaans and English Excellent telephone skills No Criminal Record or any pending cases Clear ITC Record. Own transport.
We are looking for an experienced and deadline-driven Junior Bookkeeper to support a busy finance team with bookkeeping and administrative duties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Debtors
- Generate pro-forma invoices, tax invoices, credit notes, and customer statements
- Check sub-contractor and employee expense claims and compile recharge invoices
- Allocate deposits from customers
- Maintain customer master files and customer database
- Reconcile customer accounts
- Constant communication with customers and outstanding debt collection
