Plate roller (steel / metal industry) - Afrikaans / Dutch speaking
Location : The Netherlands (on-site)
As a Plate Roller, you play a crucial role in rolling and welding 8 to 11-meter plates with thicknesses of 110 mm to form cylindrical shells. You contribute to the serial and custom production, where each workpiece has unique dimensions. Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of steel pipes (up to 2,000 tons) for offshore wind turbines. Within our close-knit and committed team, you can make a difference.
Where will you end up :
As a Plate Roller, you contribute to the entire production process. In the preparation phase, you receive instructions and drawings. You work with great precision to create perfectly round shells and cones. In the rolling and welding phase, you set parameters on the rolling machine according to instructions. Accuracy is a crucial aspect of this challenging role, with minimal deviations allowed. There is no other place in the Netherlands where you work with such large materials and precision, and our client provides the opportunity for you to learn. Their massive steel monopile tubes for offshore wind parks withstand all weather conditions, thanks in part to your meticulous work.
Safety comes first. Before you start, you ensure that you wear the correct protective gear and perform a safety check. Then, you set up the equipment correctly and according to prescribed procedures. You carefully monitor the quality of your work.
Responsibilities
In this role you :
- Work with large plates (8 to 11 meters) and plate thicknesses up to 110 mm to form cylindrical shells
- Prepare, roll, and weld according to drawings and instructions
- Set machine parameters and monitor accuracy and quality with minimal deviations
- Follow safety procedures and use required protective gear
Qualifications
You have at least a completed technical Diploma or trade related qualificationPossession of a valid VCA Basic certificate in English or Dutch, or willingness to obtain oneYou have a passion for metal workingYou have a background in the metal / steel industry, welding (different welding processes, NDTs, different welding types), or boiler makingYou have good verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans / Dutch and EnglishProficiency in the German language is an advantageWilling to work a 3-shift work weekYou are young (only have a few years experience) and eager to grow in a companyAbout Xelvin
