We are seeking a qualified and experienced Food Technologist to join our production team in Randfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet safety, quality, and compliance standards while supporting continuous improvement in food processing operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and implement food safety, quality, and hygiene practices on the plant floor.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and FSSC 22000 standards.
- Prepare for and manage customer and third-party audits (including KFC and other QSR audits).
- Conduct product testing, shelf-life analysis, and raw material verification.
- Support production teams in troubleshooting quality or process issues.
- Assist in the development of new products, process improvements, and quality enhancements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for regulatory and customer compliance.
- Train and guide production staff on food safety, quality standards, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.Minimum 2-3 years experience working on a food manufacturing plant floor.Proven knowledge of HACCP and FSSC 22000 systems.Exposure to customer audits (experience with KFC or QSR audits advantageous).Strong understanding of food safety legislation and quality management systems.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
