As Senior Systems Administrator, youll ensure that all networks, servers, and hardware are fully operational, secure, and optimised. You will also drive cybersecurity initiatives, manage backups and disaster recovery processes, and provide leadership in maintaining a resilient IT environment. This role allows you to work closely with management and support teams to implement best practices, streamline operations, and protect critical data assets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer, monitor, and optimise all network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, firewalls).
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, etc.) and telephony systems.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures, including risk analysis, security software deployment, audits, patch management, and user education.
- Manage user access, permissions, and security policies across networks and servers.
- Implement and oversee backup solutions and disaster recovery plans, conducting test restores regularly.
- Document network / server configurations, processes, recovery procedures, and security policies.
- Monitor systems for performance, reliability, and security; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
- Assist IT support teams with complex technical challenges.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices, recommending improvements to infrastructure and security.
Job Experience and Skills Required :
Education :
BSc in Computer Science or related IT field (advantageous).Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Security, Cisco) beneficial.Experience :
Minimum 3 years experience in infrastructure administration and maintenance.Proven expertise in network administration (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, wireless).Experience managing servers, virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Acronis) and DR planning.Skills :
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security audits, and monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix).Scripting / automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including on-call rotations if required.Preferred :
Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA.Experience with ManageEngine products and SQL backup procedures.Apply now!
