St Katharine’s is a small, independent, multicultural junior school for girls based in Parktown West in Johannesburg. As we prepare our girls for a digital future, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary educator to lead and develop our digital learning programme. The successful candidate will balance innovation and technological confidence with digital wellbeing and responsible use, inspiring young girls (5-13 year olds) to become confident, ethical digital citizens who understand both the opportunities and boundaries of technology.

• Professional teaching qualification with SACE registration and all required safeguarding clearances (Child Protection Act, Sexual Offences Register)
• Proven expertise in managing IT infrastructure and systems in an educational setting, with strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in IT, coding, robotics, and digital literacy, with the ability to differentiate instruction and foster creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative skills in learners
• Strategic leadership capabilities to develop and implement a digital learning strategy, champion innovation, and evaluate emerging educational technologies
• Strong administrative competence including experience with SACE compliance, SA-SAMS and Lurits systems, IT asset management, and report administration would be an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to mentor staff, collaborate across the curriculum, and engage effectively with students, parents, and external stakeholders
• Budget management experience for IT resources and digital learning initiatives, ensuring cost-effective procurement and resource planning
• Values alignment with St Katharine’s ethos of integrity, individuality, creativity, and compassion, with a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment and promoting responsible digital citizenship, digital safety, and healthy boundaries with technology
