Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team in Milnerton, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the design and layout of fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings in accordance with national and international standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring life safety, compliance, and efficient system performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and ensure designs comply with SANS 10287, NFPA, ASIB, or other relevant standards.
• Create detailed fabrication and installation drawings for use by the project and installation teams.
• Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather relevant data for design.
• Prepare material lists, data sheets, and specifications for procurement and installation.
• Provide technical support to sales and project managers.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory approval and submit necessary documentation to local authorities or ASIB.
• Keep up to date with fire protection regulations, products, and best practices.
