Position Purpose
The specification and design of IT solutions to meet defined business needs. The design, creation, testing and documentation of new and amended programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards. Ensure smooth operations of relevant IT systems that complement the business. The incumbent is involved with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of TPT’S Terminal Operating system (TOS) functional areas of the TOS; in order to meet the TPT’S Commercial as well as Sales & Marketing business needs and processes. Collaborate with all stakeholders to plan, design, configure, test, and implement TOS-specific solutions. This can include TOS integrated business solutions as well as collaboration with other operating divisions, and customers. Technical tasks related to TOS implementations and upgrades also form part of the responsibilities of the role.Position Outputs
Define system requirements, design specifications and systems documentation.Data modelling, procedural and technical designs according to application development methods, techniques and standardsStructured review of software code, development, and software testingDuring TOS implementations and upgrades, participate in the entire life cycle of TOS planning, design, configuration, testing and implementation.Cost estimation, feasibility studies and other budget requirementsRecord time allocation per task for project management and capitalization purposesStaff Management and Leadership 8 Update technical documentation on aMaintain technical configurations in accordance with related policies and proceduresEnsure that all TOS-related policies and procedures are followed, and that all change and release management tasks are completed in accordance with related policies and proceduresExecute thorough functional testing of solutions and TOS versionsQualifications and Experience
Relevant Qualification / National Diplôma (NQF 6 / 7) Advantageous : Transnet leadership Development Programme Min 5 years’ relevant experience in development experience in Oracle / APEX preferably with 1 year supervisory or specialist experience Number of years with lower level certificates / qualification NQF level 5 certificate (120 credits) Advantageous : Transnet leadership Development Programme 6 years relevant experience in development experience in Oracle / APEX At least 2 years at supervisory level or specialist experienceCompetencies
