SQL Data Engineer – Cape Town – R650k to R850k per annum

A leader in intelligence automation offering specialised software and services aimed at leveraging advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence is looking for a skilled SQL Data Engineer to join their data team. In this role, youll design, develop, and maintain robust SQL-based solutions to support enterprise-wide data operations. Youll play a key role in building efficient ETL / ELT pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting reporting and analytics needs across the business.

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL / ELT processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), T-SQL, and custom scripts.
• Build and support data warehouses, data marts, and other data storage solutions.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
• Perform advanced data transformations and query optimizations for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with reporting and BI teams to deliver reliable, high-performance datasets.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues proactively.
• Contribute to database design, data modelling, and performance tuning initiatives.
