Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate, professional Field Guide to deliver world-class safari experiences to our guests. This role is central to creating unforgettable memories.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Conduct daily game drives, ensuring safe, ethical, and informative wildlife encounters.
Back up trails guiding.
Deliver highly personalised safari experiences that exceed guest expectations.
Host and engage with guests throughout their stay, including assisting with transfers and luggage.
High standards with all guest interactions, maintaining a professional and welcoming presence.
Guiding & Conservation
Track, identify, and interpret animal behaviour, spoor, and ecological systems.
Share in-depth knowledge of local fauna, flora, and conservation practices.
Assist with bush clearing, habitat management, and road maintenance where required.
Mentor junior guides and trackers, supporting the Head Guide in staff development.
Safari Vehicle Management
Conduct routine checks and upkeep of vehicles, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and guest-ready.
Report mechanical issues promptly and assist with vehicle or tyre repairs when needed.
Manage and record usage of beverages and equipment for scenic stops.
Team Collaboration
Relay guest preferences to lodge management, FOH, and kitchen teams to enhance the guest experience.
Work closely with the Head Guide and Guide Training Manager to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Certifications :
NQF2 Nature Guide Qualification, Working towards their NQF4
Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH)
Back up Trails qualification
Business proficiency unit standards
Valid First Aid Certificate
Professional Registrations :
NDT (National Department of Tourism) registered
Other Requirements :
Valid driver’s license with PrDP (essential)
Professional appearance and conduct
Strong passion for wildlife, conservation, and guest engagement
