Job Responsibilities
- Monthly bookkeeping review and support to bookkeepers
- Review and correcting monthly management accounts
- Review and management of accounting controls, procedures and systems
- Journals setup – monthly / recurring, journal adjustments
- Reconciling accounts and inter-group loans
- Client account support
- Compliance review and ensure compliance is done
- Technical and tax support
- Monthly and annual working papers
- Annual financial statements - Compilation and sign off
- Cash-flows and budgets prepared and reviewed with commentary submitted
- Tax planning, provisional tax planning, review of group taxes and tax efficiency
- Business structures consulting, review, planning, and implementation, requiring very good knowledge of :
Taxes – business, individual, VAT, estate, payroll, trusts
Business structuring (entity types, best practices, and case use)Estate planningCommercial contracts and legal complianceGeneral AdministrationManagement of team members (bookkeepers)
Timesheets, work planning, review of task status, create and maintain workflows, reportingQuotes to clients and client onboardingDesired Experience & Qualifications
B.Com Degree, SAPIA, or similar qualification5 plus years of post-articles experience in accounting / bookkeeping / managing finance teamProficient in the following programs :Xero or Sage or Other
Draftworx / CasewareExcel (advanced), Outlook, WordPackage & Remuneration
Must be present at offices during initial training; hybrid allowed thereafterHours : 8am till 5pm, with 30 mins lunch (8.5 hour day)CTC R43 000 to R54 000Includes income protection policy (pays up to 75% of salary if disabled and cannot work) and life policy (1 x annual salary) – after probation period
