Associate Attorney (Litigation)

Employer Description

A medium-sized, well-established, and reputable law firm located in Johannesburg, Braamfontein.

Duties & Responsibilities

The applicant for this role is required to be an admitted attorney with litigation experience. Exposure to employment and labour law, and administrative law will be an advantage. The nature of the litigation experience in these practice areas must be indicated in the applicant’s CV. The candidate will be supervised by a director and must demonstrate the ability to work independently and in teams. Standard Associate duties and responsibilities will apply. Demonstrate proficiency in drafting pleadings, affidavits, and heads of argument.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in law. Admitted attorney. (Good academic results are required - please attach academic transcripts with application).

Skills

At least one year's post-admission experience. Litigation experience with exposure to employment and labour law, and administrative law will be an advantage. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others. Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a busy practice. Demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with clients.

Salary / Package

R30,000-R40,000 CTC, negotiable. Secure parking and access to offices.
