We’re looking for a hands‑on Scaffolding Supervisor to take charge of all scaffolding activities on‑site. You’ll lead a team of scaffolders, ensure safety and compliance with SANS & ISO standards, and help deliver projects efficiently within petrochemical or other high-risk industrial environments.
Scaffolding Supervisor – Cape Town, Western Cape

Responsibilities
- Supervise scaffolding teams during erection, modification, and dismantling activities.
- Allocate daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure productivity targets are met.
- Conduct daily scaffold and equipment inspections for safety and compliance.
- Review scaffold drawings, work plans, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate activities with Construction, Mechanical, HSE, and HR departments.
- Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, SANS & ISO standards, and site-specific requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of scaffolding activities, inspections, and maintenance.
- Lead toolbox talks and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Support the Construction Manager with project planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Mentor and guide team members to ensure consistent workmanship and adherence to procedures.

Education & Certifications
Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (required)Advanced Scaffolding Supervision or Safety Management Certification (advantageous)Valid Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry CertificatesValid Scaffold Erector and Supervisor CertificateValid Driver’s LicenseExperience
2–5 years’ experience in scaffolding supervision, ideally in petrochemical or industrial environments.Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (construction, mechanical, HSE, HR).Exposure to refinery, fuel terminal, or tank refurbishment projects advantageous.Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of scaffolding systems and SANS 10085-1 standards.Ability to read and interpret scaffold drawings and engineering layouts.Proficient in preparing risk assessments and method statements.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Safety-focused, disciplined, and reliable under pressure.Adaptable and able to lead by example in high-risk industrial environments.#J-18808-Ljbffr
