Field Service Technician

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join their Ormonde branch. The successful candidate will provide technical support, fault-finding, installation and commissioning services to customers, with regular travel required.

POSITION INFO:
Are you a hands-on electrical professional who enjoys fieldwork, troubleshooting, commissioning and working with industrial equipment?
Our client is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join their Ormonde branch. The successful candidate will provide technical support, fault-finding, installation and commissioning services to customers, with regular travel required.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and motor control systems.
• Work with electric motors, motor control equipment, variable speed drives (VSDs) and distribution boards.
• Perform electrical wiring, testing and fault-finding.
• Conduct equipment commissioning at customer sites.
• Diagnose electrical and control system faults and implement effective solutions.
• Provide technical support to customers and ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.
• Complete service reports and relevant technical documentation.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver's licence.
• Proven experience working with:Electric motorsMotor control systemsVariable speed drives (VSDs)Distribution board (DB) wiringElectrical fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Practical field service and commissioning experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Fluent in Afrikaans

Advantageous

• Red Seal Electrician qualification.
• Experience in industrial electrical installations and equipment.
• Previous field service or maintenance experience.
• Experience working with automated or electrically driven equipment.
