Financial Accountant

An established, fast-moving enterprise supporting heavy industrial, process, and manufacturing sector applications is seeking an experienced, deadline-driven Financial Manager to lead their central finance function. This position is custom-built for an assertive, detail-focused finance professional who thrives in a high-pressure environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, audit-ready numbers right the first time.

Operating at the core of the business, you will hold total operational responsibility for general ledger processing from source documents through to Trial Balance, monthly management accounts, Annual Financial Statements, project cost tracking, and complete SARS statutory administration. If you are a BCom Accounting graduate with SAIPA or SAICA registration, 3 to 5 years of commercial financial management experience, and strong Microsoft Excel capabilities (with SYSPRO experience being advantageous), this high-responsibility role offers an exceptional platform for long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full General Ledger & Month-End Controls: Execute end-to-end accounting operations from source documents through to Trial Balance, processing monthly journals (payroll, depreciation, loan interest) and maintaining general ledger integrity.
• Reconciliations & Treasury Governance: Direct daily cashbook processing, multi-account bank reconciliations, loan account management, and balance sheet control reconciliations across debtors and creditors.
• Project Costing & Financial Planning: Manage monthly project cost tracking, apply sound costing principles, lead budget planning cycles, compile profit forecasts, and prepare intercompany invoicing.
• Statutory Compliance & SARS Administration: Prepare and submit all monthly and annual statutory returns (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, Corporate Income Tax IT14, annual returns) via SARS eFiling, managing all regulatory queries directly.
• Reporting, Audits & Asset Management: Compile monthly management account packs, draft Annual Financial Statements, maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), manage corporate insurance portfolios, and coordinate annual external audits.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Formal Education (COMPULSORY): A completed BCom Degree in Accounting is mandatory.
• Professional Membership (COMPULSORY): Active professional membership with SAIPA or SAICA is mandatory.
• Experience Track Record: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of solid experience in a Financial Management capacity overseeing full-suite accounting functions.
• Systems & Digital Capabilities:
  
  • Advanced operational command of Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Practical experience operating on SYSPRO ERP software is highly advantageous.
  • Direct experience in project costing methodology and principles is advantageous.
