Accountant

A well-established manufacturing business is looking for an Accountant to join its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment where finance plays a key role in supporting the business. You'll be involved in the full accounting function, work closely with operational departments, and gain exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, and manufacturing cost analysis.
We're looking for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented and thrives in an environment where accuracy, deadlines and continuous improvement are valued.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Processing journals, supplier invoices and reconciliations
• Managing accounts payable and receivable functions
• Preparing bank reconciliations and maintaining the cashbook
• Assisting with month-end and year-end financial close
• Preparing management reports and supporting financial reporting
• Maintaining the general ledger and fixed asset register
• Processing petty cash and expense claims
• Supporting inventory reconciliations and investigating stock variances
• Assisting with manufacturing cost analysis and production accounting
• Working closely with production, procurement and warehouse teams
• Assisting with VAT, audits and statutory reconciliations
• Ensuring compliance with financial controls and company policies

What we're looking for:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Approximately 3-4 years' accounting experience
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience will be highly advantageous
• Exposure to inventory and cost accounting is preferred
• Strong Excel skills and experience working on an ERP or accounting system
• Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical ability with a proactive, hands-on approach
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams
