POSITION INFO:

This opportunity is ideally suited to a SAIPA-trained candidate who has gained strong hands-on exposure to the accounting function and is comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accounts up to Trial Balance.
- Process and reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors and cashbooks.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and process month-end journals.
- Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit VAT and other SARS-related returns and reconciliations.
- Handle UIF and Workmen's Compensation / COIDA administration and submissions.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with fixed assets, statutory compliance and audit preparation.
- Work across multiple accounting systems and ensure information is processed accurately and timeously.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines within a high-volume finance environment.
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.
Job Experience & Skills Required
- BCom Accounting / Finance degree or relevant accounting qualification.
- SAIPA training / articles highly preferred.
- Approximately 1â3 years' relevant accounting experience.
- Strong practical understanding of accounting through to Trial Balance.
- Working knowledge of SARS, VAT, UIF and Workmen's Compensation / COIDA.
- Exposure to multiple accounting and payroll systems, ideally including:SageXeroPastel Online / Sage Business CloudPastel DesktopPayroll systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential.
- Ability to prioritise effectively when managing multiple deadlines.
- High-energy, proactive and hands-on personality.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- A clean criminal and credit record is required, as relevant pre-employment checks will be conducted.
