Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure has a career opportunity for a suitably qualified Engineering Technologist to provide technical advisory services and support by applying engineering principles and techniques to address engineering challenges through research.Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering (B Tech) or relevant qualificationA minimum of 3-years post qualification Engineering Technologist (Electrical) experienceCompulsory registration with ECSA as a Engineering Technologist; A valid code B driving license.Recommendation

Provide technological advisory services :
Support Engineers, Technicians and associates in field, workshop and office activitiesPromote safety standards in line with statutory and regulatory requirementsEvaluate existing technical manuals, standard drawings and procedures to incorporate new technology; Solve broadly defined technological challenges through application of proven techniques and proceduresDevelop, maintain and manage current technologies; and Identify and optimize technical solutions by applying engineering principles.Perform administrative and related functions : Compile and submit monthly and quarterly reportsProvide inputs to the operational plan; and Develop, implement and maintain databasesResearch and development : Keep up with new technologies and proceduresResearch / literature studies on technical engineering technology to improve expertise;and To liaise with relevant boards / councils on engineering-related matters.Competencies
