Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Tableview, Western Cape.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and reporting for a diverse portfolio of service-related businesses, trusts, and properties. You will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, proficiency in various accounting software, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues. Duties & Responsibilities
- Financial Management : Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against targets and providing insights for decision-making.
- Cash Flow Management : Manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support business operations.
- Tax Compliance : Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with the preparation of tax returns and other compliance-related activities.
- Financial Analysis : Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Process Improvement : Continuously review and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Audit Support : Facilitate audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting auditors as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Professional Certification : Preferably completed or pursuing professional certification such as CA (SA), CPA, or equivalent.Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles. Experience in both public and private sectors preferred.Software Proficiency : Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel, Simple Accounts, etc. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.Communication : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels.Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Team Player : Collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Ethical Conduct : Commitment to upholding high ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.Package & Remuneration
