Location : Franschhoek, Western Cape – candidates ideally residing in Franschhoek, Paarl, Stellenbosch, or within the Northern Suburbs (Brackenfell, Durbanville, Kraaifontein, etc.)
Salary : R55,000 per month (Negotiable, DOE)
Hours : Monday – Friday, 08h00 – 17h00
Benefits : 7.5% Provident Fund contribution (Old Mutual), 50% Medical Aid contribution, Performance Bonus up to 20% of annual salary, 15 days annual leave + 1 day for your birthday
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a strategic and hands-on Financial Manager to join a luxury hotel, vineyard, and spa in Franschhoek . This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong operational awareness and hospitality experience, ready to lead the property’s financial function and support executive decision-making.
Role Overview
The Financial Manager will oversee the full financial operations of the property, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance, across the hotel, restaurants, spa, and winery. This individual will provide strategic financial guidance, drive operational efficiencies, and support the General Manager and Regional Finance Director to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting accuracy, accountability, and service excellence
- Build financial awareness across departments and support non-financial managers in decision-making
- Allocate workloads effectively and ensure compliance with company policies
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee journals, reconciliations, month‑end close, management accounts, and inter‑company transactionsProduce accurate monthly P&L and balance sheet reports, segmented by department (Rooms, F&B, Spa, Winery, Retail)Monitor departmental costs, margins, and yields; support pricing and revenue initiativesPresent financial insights, forecasts, and variance analysis to the General Manager and Heads of DepartmentBudgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles in collaboration with department headsAnalyse budget vs actual performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisationOperational Finance & Controls
Implement and monitor internal controls across all departmentsManage cash flow, stock reporting, and POS & PMS integrationsMaintain Fixed Asset Register and Capex control schedulesCompliance & Auditing
Ensure statutory compliance (VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, UIF, SDL) and audit readinessLiaise with external auditors, SARS, and financial institutionsMaintain adherence to IFRS, company policies, and group reporting standardsPersonal Criteria
