Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations : Responsible for management of daily operations at Crista Galli during shift, ensuring facilities are clean and neat, planning activities, coordinating shift personnel, checking contract staff hours, meeting with shift managers, controlling keys, dealing with complaints, performing weekly inspections, ensuring grounds are neat and maintaining a professional image.
- Stock and Cash Management : Control and manage bar and liquor stock, procure liquor, conduct monthly stock take, record distribution, ensure compliance with liquor and Health & Safety acts, monitor cost versus retail price, adjust prices with Head of division, maintain bar profitability per budget.
- Conferences and Functions : Liaise with booking office for prior planning, reserve venues, attend functions, ensuring client demands and quality standards are met, arranging sufficient staff and décor.
- Kitchen : Keep kitchen and serving area neat, ensure adequate waiters / runners, identify training needs, communicate daily planning, verify timesheets against invoices, guarantee food quality and timely service, inspect before mealtimes, be present during mealtimes to respond to enquiries.
- People Management : Provide in‑service training, maintain discipline, plan annual leave, ensure staff productivity and optimal employment, comply with health and safety act and training requirements.
- Liaisons : Internal – daily liaison with Head Hospitality Services; External – continuous liaison with clients to ensure good service and satisfaction.
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) : Identify and report OHS risks, mitigate risks, receive OHS training if needed, comply with OHS audits, schedules, evacuation drills.
- Key Functional / Technical Competencies : Willingness to work weekends, computer literacy, good verbal and written communication, valid driver’s license, fast‑paced decision‑making, motivational management style, basic accounting skills, knowledge of liquor acts.
- Key Behavioural Competencies : Positive client‑service orientation, good interpersonal relations, self‑motivation, sound judgement, ability to perform physical work.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).A bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Hospitality.A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the hospitality sector.Recruitment Information
