Logistics Coordinator

My client, a well established fruit exporter is looking for a highly organised logistics professional with a passion for the fresh produce industry. The purpose of this role is ensuring the efficient movement of fresh fruit from packhouse to international markets.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fruit export industry, as well as a Diploma or Degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics process for fruit exports.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, cold storage facilities, transport providers, and export agents.
• Schedule and monitor container bookings, loading plans, and vessel departures.
• Ensure compliance with export regulations, phytosanitary requirements, and customer specifications.
• Track shipments and proactively manage delays, deviations, and logistical challenges.
• Prepare and verify export documentation, including shipping instructions, commercial invoices, packing lists, and relevant certificates.
• Maintain accurate logistics records and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, production, quality assurance, and sales teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in logistics coordination, preferably within the fruit export or fresh produce industry.
• Strong understanding of export procedures, shipping documentation, and cold-chain logistics.
• Experience working with international customers and service providers.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
