Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Electrician to oversee and perform solar PV installations, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of photovoltaic systems from start to finish. Solar experience and a valid Wireman's Licence are essential.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification
- Valid Wireman's Licence (Non-negotiable)
- Minimum 3 years' solar installation experience (roof and ground-mounted systems)
- Experience with micro and string inverters
- Experience setting up and monitoring solar systems
- Valid driver's licence
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
Advantageous Qualifications
- National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- AREP/SAPVIA PV Green Card Certification
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain solar PV systems
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and project plans
- Install solar racking, inverters, batteries, and monitoring systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve system faults and operational issues
- Conduct inverter firmware updates and system testing
- Ensure all installations comply with SANS standards and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate installation and maintenance records
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Provide professional customer service and technical support
