A leading player in the logistics and supply chain sector is seeking a detail-driven Distribution Controller to support and optimise national distribution operations within a contract logistics environment.
This role focuses on operational coordination, system accuracy, financial control, and KPI performance, ensuring smooth daily distribution activities and high service delivery standards.
Role Purpose
To oversee the day-to-day coordination of national distribution operations, ensuring efficient processes, accurate system management, and strong financial and administrative control. The role is responsible for maintaining service levels, managing invoicing and documentation, and ensuring alignment between operational execution, customer expectations, and contractual KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
Distribution & Operational Coordination

Plan and communicate daily operational activities for national distribution

Ensure cargo is dispatched on time and vehicles depart according to schedule

Coordinate special and ad-hoc customer distribution requirements

Work closely with operational teams and service providers to maintain service excellence
Financial & Administrative Control

Manage accurate and timeous client invoicing processes

Reconcile service provider invoices against deliveries
-
Support financial service level (FSL) processes and reporting requirements

Monitor loss files, credit notes, and related KPIs to ensure compliance with targets
Systems & Data Management

Capture and maintain operational data on the Warehouse Management System (WMS)

Ensure closure of all inbound, outbound, and returns orders in the system

Maintain inventory alignment between customer and supplier records

Perform basic WMS troubleshooting and system maintenance when required
Customer Service & KPI Management

Ensure all contractual customer KPIs are consistently achieved

Monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) and Information on Delivery (IOD) processes

Use the customer complaints register to drive resolution and process improvements

Collaborate with site managers, specialists, and service providers to implement corrective actions where KPIs are not met

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field preferred)

3–5 years’ experience in a Contract Logistics or Distribution environment

Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and national distribution processes

Experience with invoicing, financial processes, and service level reporting (FSL)

Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Understanding of QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health & Environment) practices
