Our client is hiring a Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of all plant, machinery, and equipment, ensuring that work is completed to the required quality standards. This role includes managing the workshop team and coordinating effectively with operations staff and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
The Workshop Manager will manage and lead the workshop team to ensure efficient operations.
They will develop and maintain strong working relationships with operations staff and suppliers.
They will oversee the fleet maintenance programme and ensure all maintenance is completed on schedule.
They will manage maintenance and tyre costs, ensuring that expenses remain within budget.
They will control stores stock levels and oversee the purchase of replacement parts and equipment as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate must have completed Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4) or hold a relevant Diploma (NQF Level 6).
They must be a qualified Diesel Mechanic, and trade papers are essential.
They must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a managerial role.
They must have knowledge and practical experience with Earth Moving or Yellow Equipment, as well as experience maintaining a haulage fleet including trucks, trailers, and loading equipment.
Skills
The candidate must demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills.
They must be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
They must be deadline-oriented and able to manage time efficiently.
They must have practical knowledge of fleet and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth workshop operations
