Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
Based in Pretoria East, the role covers management accounts, reporting, cash flow, budgeting, controls, tax and day-to-day financial management. You’ll also gain exposure to different parts of the operation and occasionally travel to other sites, giving you a much broader view of the business than a traditional office-based finance role.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
• Analyse monthly financial performance and provide useful insights.
• Manage and monitor daily and weekly cash flow.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, loan schedules and fixed asset registers.
• Process and review journals, accruals, provisions and stock adjustments.
• Assist with annual budgets and monthly actual-versus-budget reporting.
• Oversee supplier payments and key financial controls.
• Prepare VAT reconciliations and submissions.
• Assist with annual financial statements, audits and tax calculations.
• Improve finance and administration processes and controls.
• Support and guide finance and administrative staff.
• Travel occasionally to other operations, including Johannesburg and Polokwane.

Requirements

• Approximately 1–3 years’ experience after articles.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting fundamentals.
• Exposure to management accounts, cash flow, budgeting and reconciliations.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on finance environment.
• Experience in manufacturing, food, distribution or a stock-based business would be advantageous.
• Based in or able to work full-time in Pretoria.
• Willing to travel occasionally to other operational sites.
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans

Education

• Relevant accounting or finance qualification.
• Completed SAIPA articles.

Salary
