Job description
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Performing typing duties for general and confidential correspondence, memorandums and reports, minutes of meetings and agendas utilising a word processor/personal computer and dictating/transcribing equipment.
- Co-ordinates and controls mail directed to the Executive level and drafts replies to routine correspondence using a personal computer.
- Performs client liaison at Executive level by receiving Councillors, staff and public, arranging consequent meetings and ensuring necessary documentation is available.
- Co-ordinates itineraries and makes travel and business arrangements.
- Directs and controls telephone calls by screening and redirecting calls where appropriate and by making calls as directed.
- Maintains a confidential filing system and updated relevant Policy and Procedural records.
- Controls and maintains the Executive’s stationary and miscellaneous requirements needs.
- Undertakes research functions for Commanding Officers.
Essential Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and an Administrative certificate.
- 2 Years relevant experience.
- Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements:
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Secretarial studies.
- 3 Years relevant experience.
