General Accountant

Company and Job Description: A rapidly growing organisation within the resources and engineering sector is seeking a General Accountant to join their finance team in the Northern Cape. This dynamic business operates within a technically complex environment, supporting large-scale operations in mining, engineering, and construction-related activities. This role offers exposure to end-to-end accounting in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment where precision, discipline, and commercial awareness are critical to success.Key Responsibilities: - Manage full accounting function including journals, reconciliations, and month-end processes - Prepare accurate financial records, trial balances, and management reports - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational decision-making - Oversee creditors, debtors, and cashbook functions to ensure financial accuracy and control - Support audit processes and ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls - Prepare statutory returns including VAT and other regulatory submissions - Contribute to financial reporting within a high-volume, operational mining/engineering environment Job Experience and Skills Required: - Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with 24 years post-articles experience - Strong accounting background with solid exposure to financial reporting and reconciliations - Mining, engineering, construction, or heavy industry experience highly advantageous - Strong technical accounting knowledge with attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to operate in a fast-paced, operational environment - Proficient in Excel and financial systems with strong analytical capability Apply now!
