Junior Mechanical Draughtsman (Entry-Level)

SUMMARY:
A dynamic and growing engineering/manufacturing company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Draughtsman to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate looking to kick-start their career in a hands-on technical environment, with exposure to real production projects and modern CAD tools.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D CAD models from sketches, specifications, or verbal briefs
• Update and modify existing drawings as required
• Produce assembly drawings, including exploded views, bills of materials (BOM), and part lists
• Manage drawing revisions, ensuring all updates are properly documented and the latest versions are issued for production
• Prepare and export files for manufacturing (DXF, DWG, STEP, etc.), particularly for laser cutting
• Maintain and organise the company’s drawing library for easy access and version control
• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, correct dimensions, and compliance with standards
• Work closely with engineers and production teams to resolve drawing-related issues
• Assist with design improvements and standardisation of templates
• Ensure drawings include correct materials, tolerances, and manufacturing notes
• Support general CAD administration (file naming, backups, archiving)

Requirements:

• Recently completed (or completing in 2026) a National Diploma, Higher Certificate, or Degree in Mechanical Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or similar
• Strong academic performance in CAD-related modules
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings)
• Working knowledge of Fusion 360 (modelling, assemblies, drawings, manufacturing workspace)
• Ability to produce accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models
