Electronic Technician

SUMMARY:
Are you an IT professional with hands-on experience supporting industrial machinery, manufacturing systems or production environments? This role combines IT, industrial networking, machine connectivity and automation, giving you the opportunity to work directly with industrial equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, integrate machines with software and business systems, and support commissioning and upgrades. We are looking for someone with a strong IT foundation who can apply their technical skills in a practical industrial environment and is confident working across hardware, software, networks and machine interfaces.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• Install, configure and maintain IT infrastructure, industrial networks, machine connectivity and on-site cabling
• Provide technical support across IT hardware, software, networks and machine interfaces
• Integrate industrial machinery with software platforms, databases and business systems
• Configure and maintain machine software, databases and communication systems
• Perform software updates, system upgrades and machine interface commissioning
• Diagnose and resolve network, connectivity, communication and machine-related issues on customer sites
• Troubleshoot and fault-find across IT and industrial systems to ensure maximum machine uptime
• Work closely with engineering and operations teams to improve machine connectivity, system performance and reliability
• Assist with the installation, commissioning and integration of technology on industrial machinery
• Provide technical support and communicate solutions to customers and internal stakeholders

Skills & Experience:

• Strong IT background with hands-on technical and troubleshooting experience
• Experience working with industrial machinery, production equipment or within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, hardware and systems support
• Experience with machine connectivity, industrial networks, systems integration or industrial IT
• Practical experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networking and communication issues
• Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, automation systems or industrial communication protocols would be advantageous
• Strong analytical and fault-finding skills
• Comfortable working on customer sites and within industrial environments
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related technical field
• Relevant hands-on industrial IT experience will be considered
• Valid driver’s licence
• Valid passport required for international travel
