Duties & Responsibilities

My client, a market leader in the gaming and entertainment industry, based in KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to be a part of their dynamic team on a fixed-term contract. As the Financial Controller, the successful candidate would be responsible for the finances and management of the department. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, willing to work long hours and on public holidays if required.

• Effectively manage the administration and accounts departments ensuring that all processes are strictly in compliance with the gaming board and company policies and procedures.
• Assist operations management to reduce costs and improve profit by closely analysing & reporting financial data and, in particular, deviations from budget.
• Manage the budget formulation process resulting in accurate budgets delivered on time and closely monitored.
• Maintain accurate records of company accounts strictly in line with legal and unit office requirements.
• Effectively coordinate audits and take prompt corrective action where required.
• Ensure statutory reporting requirements are met timeously.
• Build a competent and motivated team of staff through confident and caring leadership.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified CA(SA)
• 1 year of commercial exposure
