We are seeking a Senior Electronic or Mechatronic Design Engineer who enjoys hardware and software development/embedded design. This international company is involved in complete design manufacturing and reselling. The ideal applicant will become part of the R&D team to develop automation, access control, and electronic devices for building automation. This is a hands-on development engineer role involving hardware, software, and testing, with an opportunity to view product manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities

Location: Cape Town

This international leader in the development and manufacturing of automation and access control works on smart living systems for home automation. The main purpose of this role will be to design electronics hardware and firmware for new and existing products.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• BSc/B.Eng (Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering) or higher required
• Minimum 5 years experience as a design engineer in the electronic manufacturing industry
• Electronics design
• PCB layout
• Firmware (C, Python)
• Experience conforming to international standards
• Test design

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering solutions through research, design, and enhancement of company products.
• Design solutions that meet company and customer requirements.
• Research new methods and technologies to improve company offerings.
• Project management
• Electronic and firmware design
• Testing
