Chief Operations Officer

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We have partnered with our client who is currently looking for a COO to join their business in Johannesburg, report to the CEO, and be part of a business that has seen exceptional growth since its launch.

This role is to build and maintain an eco-system for the business and ensure the following is being driven:

• Value creation across all regions in Africa where the business has a presence and ensuring each territory follows the correct operational directions.
• Operational excellence across all the regions.
• Build talent capabilities across the regions for the best talent within the group, ensuring the business has subject matter experts driving performance and culture, promoting culture, and setting the right tone for succession plans.
• Engage, modify, and set the right business model within the high uncertainty of the business dynamics in Africa for a sustainable business model.
• Conduct planning for new set-up capacity or expansion of existing properties by driving efficiency, scalability, quality, and consistency in the service operations.

Key Performance Areas include:

• Business Planning
• Corporate governance and compliance
• Develop corporate policies that encompass regional operations and business operations.
• Drive business excellence.
• Human Capital management.

As the successful COO, you will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in either engineering or business administration/relevant field.
• Master's degree in the relevant field would be highly advantageous.
• Experience within a medium to large company in a technical or operational role as part of the senior management or executive team.
• Experience in working within Africa and managing various regions.
• HR Services, Recruitment & Selection experience.
